Day 4: Steamboat Springs
Day 4 was supposed to be a day off. We slept in, had breakfast, came back and relaxed a little and then I took all the kids up on the slopes again. Alyson headed for some relaxation at the spa! I could not believe how well our little Mia did. She did a very steep blue run called Vagabond and I swear she was going 50 mph! It sure is fun being able to ski together as a family! We just finished our obligatory pool/hot-tub run and now we're watching the BYU game and eating some pizza. We head home tomorrow where there is a fire burning only 5 miles from our house! Hopefully we aren't coming home to be evacuated!
Day 3: Steamboat Springs
Day 3 was another great Colorado day. Beautiful sunshine after a night of some snow. Mia had her last day in ski school and even headed up on a run with all of us. We then came back to our place and played in the pool and hot tub before heading out for some great Italian food.
No offense...
... To my other kids. I've had really good babies. Reid's initial fussiness was probably because he was starving for his first two months of life (milk production issues). Jane probably seemed more difficult than she really was because we were in the midst of Derek's hardest year of residency (and she was girl-- let's be honest, our gender is more high-maintenance from the get-go). Joseph is so NICE. He is patient when he is hungry, he goes to sleep easily. He has such a sweet smile. He sleeps through the night most of the time, which allows me to get enough sleep to maintain my sanity. If he were a screamer, I know my nerves would be frayed. Jory doesn't talk back to me, or tease his siblings; he doesn't throw tantrums or make messes. I have learned that those days will inevitably come, which is why I'm cherishing this time now. So if my kids ever read this, what I'm saying is that I have loved and adored each one of you, but at the present, Joseph is making it possible for me to continue to love and adore ALL of you.

Day 2: Steamboat Springs
Today was like a totally different place...THE NORTH POLE! It was freezing cold, snowy, and windy! We still had fun, but had to take a few more breaks for hot cocoa! All day we were worried that Mia wouldn't like ski school due to the cold, but she LOVED it again and is now riding the chair lift and doing green runs. Her instructor (she calls him "Good Luck Charlie") says that tomorrow she'll do the gondola and some BLUE runs! Wow! The boys got even better at their jumps and rails and even did a double black diamond run through the powder and the trees! We then went to our pool and hot tub in our condo and just finished eating some great pizza! We were going to take tomorrow off, but everyone wants to hit the powder again tomorrow, including Mia!
Day 1: Steamboat Springs
Mia dressed for success on the slopes!Day 1 (yesterday) was like the best of Hawaii and Steamboat combined! It was 60 degrees and beautiful! Mia LOVED ski school! Connor, Preston and Adin were shredding it up and Alyson and me were just loving watching our kids be so independent! After skiing, we headed to the hot springs but, unlike Britt, we forgot to take any pictures.

READY FOR SPRING BREAK!
Connor suffering through the 2 mile!
Adin with the ball and heading towards the goal!
Connor leading his heat on his way home on the 1 mile!
We are officially back to crazy spring! Tomorrow after church, we're heading to Steamboat Springs for an entire week of skiing, snowboarding, hot-tubing, snowmobiling, and NO WORKING! Today, Adin had 3 lacrosse games and Connor had two races! Adin had 2 goals and an assist today. Connor ran the 1 mile in 5:10 and came in 1st in the heat that he was in! He later ran a 10:50 2 mile for another PR and coming in 12th overall in a very strong field (including the defending state champ).

Little P90x-ers
In case you doubted that Derek and I have really been doing P90x, Luke and Jane are proof-- they're inspired by our examples! ;) after school today Luke came down in his "gym clothes" and even let Jane borrow some, asking if I'd turn on P90X. Today's video is Yoga X. (Derek and I did it at 6 am) Bring it!
The only fun part about doing bills...
... This cute little lady on my lap. Even if she does mess with my computer and makes it hard to get my work done!!!
