ROCKIN' IT!!!!

We have a winner...Shelby took first place today in her heat of the 25 yard breast stroke. She pushed in from behind and took the race away from some poor little schmuck! We are so proud of her. We'll find out next week if she is also the event winner, but from the way it looked she was in the stronger heat of two. She also took fourth place in the 100IM (this involves one length of all four stokes) and did not do so bad in the 25 yard fly either. ROCK ON SHELBY!

Happy Birthday, Adam!

You may think we're a day late with your birthday wishes, but since you refuse to look at our blog, I guess you missed the post we put up for you yesterday.
Anyway, we think you're fantastic-- you set a really good example for our family, and I admire how deliberate you are in keeping traditions for your family (i.e. date night with your wife, Daddy dates with your kids, Snickers on hikes...) It's great to be related to someone as enthusiastic and excited about life as you are. Hope your day was great!

The first best days of my life

The baby mom and the baby
My first son. Laying still for the only time in his life.
Not to take anything from any of my great kids, but only one of you could be the first. If I had not been so proud of the first, perhaps I would have only had one. I cannot even say what a great blessing kids really are. So anyway, Happy Birthday to the first. Too bad your mother was too young to have children. I am pleased with all you do and wish you the best of the end of 37 years and the beginning of 38. Wow thirty-eight years. I can still remember the first day!!!! Truly one of the best of my life. Love dad

More blessing pictures

Blessing Day

It was a grand day and a blessing well done. I have never participated in a blessing where the baby was so totally quiet and peaceful. A real beauty. I have some pictures for the 75% of the family that missed the event. I mean 75% of the adult children. The little weaver kids were there and well behaved I might add. ;)

Blessing Day

These are the two photos I have on my own camera from blessing day. Yes, that bath photo was in the middle of the afternoon, when apparently trashing the basement and throwing stuff in the Grandpa and Grandma's pond had gotten old. It was a very fun day, but crazy-- I didn't get all the photos I wanted of Jane in her dress, but between everyone wanting to hold her, her wanting to eat, and trying to get dinner ready for everyone else to eat, I decided to ignore my typical instincts to be the photographer and enjoy the day. I'll have to do her own photo shoot this week. Mandy took lots of photos that she is sending me on CD, but you can see a few if you click "Britt's Family" on the link to the right.
The blessing was beautiful-- along with Derek in the circle were Grandpas Fred and Randy, Bishop Tidwell, President McClure, and friends Gregg and Russ. I think that was everyone-- correct me if I'm wrong, guys. Jane was an angel-- she didn't cry until I got up to bear my testimony. :) Thanks everyone for being there to make it so special, and we missed those of you who weren't able to be there, but we understand! Life is busy!

Blessing Day!

We know that Jane was blessed and I am sure it was a beautiful event, but we wouldn't know...Hint, Hint! We wish we could have been there on our own, but swim team start up and a once a year Dance recital got in the way...we are sorry for that, but where o where are the pictures?!

Hawaii

This was probably the hardest race I've done! All I wanted to do was lay here, but it was too hot to do that.
My biggest support!
Our view from the room! It was gorgeous!
The Hawaii temple on Oahu!
This is the last place we stayed. It had a great beach with snorkeling. We had a lot of fun with Alyson's parents.

Well, we're back! It was a great trip. Our biggest mistake was that we jumped to too many islands in too short of a time. It was a lot of fun though. I'm very happy with my triathlon. 3rd place was a great finish for me, but I was and still am very disappointed that I missed out on getting into the big dance by 1 slot! Oh well, now I can keep training until I get in. Wish you could have all been there!

Midnight Caller

Note the tire tracks
See the car parts mixed in with the blocks
Observe the mess.

The doorbell rang at 1:45 AM. I stumbled out of bed and went to the door. I could see a police van in front so I turned on the light and cracked open the door. I was naturally in the white tennis suit I wear to bed so I did not plan to go out, but the policeman would not come close to the door, so I stepped out into a clear warm early morning arrayed in white to find out why we were getting so much attention at this time of day. He pointed to the front lawn and said, "someone took out your retaining wall."

Apparently someone had been reported squeeling around the neighborhood and ran the car into the wall. The car was not there. The cop said that the car had been found at the golf course except for the parts left in our front yard.

GOOD MORNING!!! About 2 hours later we were able to go back to sleep. Now we have some more work to do, Hooray!!!

It was only a matter of time

Of course with Grandpa Fred tending the 6 kids, it was inevitable that things would get out of control or maybe just o'l gpa is just too darn accommodating, nevertheless if someone comes down with a berry bad diease, what can you expect?
