Adin did have a birthday and he is sure 5! We're going to have the official party soon, but he did have a good day. He went to McDonald's (his choice), to see Shrek 3, played with his good friend, and got to unwrap his presents before his Mom and Dad went out (see blog below).

Adin is 5!
Adin did have a birthday and he is sure 5! We're going to have the official party soon, but he did have a good day. He went to McDonald's (his choice), to see Shrek 3, played with his good friend, and got to unwrap his presents before his Mom and Dad went out (see blog below).
Great Memorial Day Weekend!
We had a great weekend. We went up to Ft. Collins on Friday night where Mom made a great "carb loaded" meal. Saturday morning I did a triathlon and took 2nd (I would have taken 1st if my good friend wouldn't have been there). We went to lunch in Ft. Collins and then headed home and got some yard work done. Sunday was beautiful so we went for a bike ride after church. Monday, I ran the Bolder Boulder and then ran back to the start and ran it again with Alyson and Connor. Then, Mom and Dad joined us back in Parker for some major yard work. We got a ton done and the yard looks a lot better! Then, Mom made a great dinner. We had BBQ ribs, hamburgers, and hot dogs with Mom's great potato salad. But, the best was Mom's Rasberry Rhubarb pie with ice cream. It was an active, but fun weekend. Tuesday night we celebrated Adin's Birthday breifly (with a promise that he would have an even better party later) and then Alyson and I took Mom and Dad and two other dentist's and their wives to my new office location, McCormick's (great seafood) and finally to see "Wicked." Mom and Dad got to ride in the limo from Ft. Collins and back while we only got to ride from my office to dinner and to the play and back to our car afterwards. It was a great night! We wish that all of you could have been there.

THE GRADUATE
Paige graduated from Little Scholars Academy this week. Its has been a busy and exciting week for her. The Pre-school went all out and bought caps and gowns for them to wear. Paige sang a solo ("Rudy the Rectangle")and read a book (Marvin the Monkey) for her graduation ceremony. She did great! I was smart enough to remember the video camera this time so we got it all on film. I just cannot believe she starts kindergarten this fall. Where is the time going...not that I am apposed to it!!!

Scriptures and Prayers
Star's are born...Again!
Shelby, Hannah, and Paige performed in the "up with kids" presentation of "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL" this week. They were a huge success. Once again the girls took home awards for best in show in the eyes of their proud parents. Its no surprize that Paige wins for "most animated", Hannah for "biggest smile", and Shelby for "going above and beyond". Here are a few pictures of the event...

Our journey home....
Our last day on Belanger Lane....
The move from Michigan back to home sweet home Colorado went better than we could have asked for. We had several friends help with cleaning, bringing us food, and loading the truck... Fred and Nori especially did so much work, from coming to help us load and clean to driving cross-country with us to helping us move in.... we are very grateful.
Once the truck was loaded, and picked up, we made our way down to Lansing, where it was time to celebrate Derek's hard work over the past 4 years! It was wonderful to drive in to Lansing and not have to worry about what home improvements needed to be done at our house... it was such a blessing that we sold it when we did-- it couldn't have worked out better!
The kids did pretty well during graduation, only getting a little restless :)
We were so grateful to have Fred and Nori, Randy and Nancy, Adam and Alyson, and Cami make the trek out to Lansing to attend Derek's graduation. It was such a great event and having family to celebrate with made it even better!!!
Papa Randy and Grandma Nancy were so kind to take Ethan, Reid and Luke home on the airplane so they didn't have to endure the cross-country journey in the car. Plus, they got a mini-vacation in Chicago, going to the Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile.... Derek and I haven't even done that yet!
The highlight of the cross-country trip was a stop at IKEA to stock up on some home organizing/ decorating items. We spent close to 3 hours there-- it is such a fun store-- even Fred enjoyed shopping! We ate dinner there too-- swedish meat balls-- yum!

Can you tell we were actually having fun on our roadtrip? It's really not bad when you're not jumping over the seat to distribute snacks, clean messes, change DVDs, and mediate arguments.

Another Grizzweaver Day
Yesterday started out like any other day, I got up at 6am to get Connor ready to do a triathlon. Our babysitter got here at 6:30 and Connor and me headed to Castle Rock where Connor did his 1st triathlon of the year. He did a 100 yard swim, an 8K bike, and a 2K run. I'm not sure how he did because they started everyone at a different time, but it looked like he did really well. Besides, we didn't have time to stay and see because Preston's lacrosse game was starting 15 minutes from when Connor finished his triathlon so we had to cruise out of there. Preston did great in his lacrosse game and they won! I then had to run Preston to a friend's house and take Connor back to his lacrosse game. Connor was upset with his playing time, but they won. I then cruised over to get another babysitter to watch the kids for a couple of hours while I did my bike ride (I got a flat and had no spare). I then had to hustle back home, get all of the kids and get over to Invesco field where Connor's team was going to go onto the field and meet the Denver Outlaws professional lacrosse team. The kids had a blast, but I did not. Adin and Mia were starving so I got them pizza and sprite which they promptly got all over them. Mia then pooped her pants and I didn't have an extra diaper or wet wipes! I searched the crowd for someone that might and found someone. I then borrowed a diaper and wet wipes and had to change Mia in the bathroom. It was everywhere. While I was changing the diaper, Adin decided to hang on the urinals! When I rushed over to get Adin, Mia decided to move and got the poop even more spread out over the bathroom. People were coming in and then disgustingly leaving. I then had to wash them, me, and the entire bathroom. We went back out to the game where Adin spilled an entire Sprite all over the place and on his jacket. Of course, that got him crying that his jacket was wet, but didn't keep him and Mia from walking through it, reaching down to feel the sprite and then wiping it on their clothes! Connor wanted to stay at the game and so did Preston, but I was done! We left early. We were excited to get home because Alyson was now off of her plane and on her way home too! (She had been in Las Vegas overnight to see Megan win state in 3 of 4 events, she took 2nd in the other). So, we start our drive home. Suddenly, as I'm talking to Alyson on the phone, my car veers left and makes a horrible noise. I pull over to find my tire as flat as can be. Alyson was going to come and get the kids, but I told her to go home. It was just a flat tire after all. So, I get the spare and start the whole changing tire routine. I can't get the tire off! It won't budge and I'm trying everything! Then I look over and my jack is bending! I quickly tighten the bolts and the car falls down! I call Alyson and tell her that she's got to bring me another jack and a hammer. She comes after a while and loads all of the kids in her car, I get her jack and jack up the car again. I work on removing the tire for an hour! Just as I was giving up I pound the tire off by using the hammer on the back of the tire. I do a celebratory dance on the freeway and then got the tire changed! We made it home by midnight! No big deal!

so many great events

I got thinking about the blog and how many things have happened over the past few weeks. I really enjoy the blog, but unfortunately we let it slip and forget to share. I really think it is a great family connection so try not to forget.
I can not believe we have nothing of the graduation, however I know the micro weavers have been with out a computer for a few weeks now. I have this great picture of some of my favorite people.
