It was only a matter of time

Of course with Grandpa Fred tending the 6 kids, it was inevitable that things would get out of control or maybe just o'l gpa is just too darn accommodating, nevertheless if someone comes down with a berry bad diease, what can you expect?

Adin is 6!

Alyson and me are headed to Hawaii so we celebrated Adin's 6th birthday today! He got a bike and some other fun toys! He's a crazy man on his new bike!

We love you, DAD! Sorry you were sick on your big day. Only five more, short years until you are 40 and you'll probably really wear your pants like this! Happy days.!

A DECISION HAS BEEN MADE...by me!

Okay, here it is...I have tentatively rented the cabin in Bear Lake, whose information I e-mailed to all of you, for July 25th-August 1st. I need each of you to lock in the dates that you will be spending there. The cost of the cabin is $450 per night (a little more on weekend nights...according to the agency, but not according to the info sheet they sent me!?????). That cost will be divided up evenly (unless you make other arrangements) with the people who are staying with you each night. I have offered the 25th-27 or 28th to Jason's family as they will be here then, but it is not likely that they will be using those dates. If you want to come on any of those dates and they do decide to use the time then, fine...great, we'll work it out. If I need to cancel some of the days I need to do it ASAP. For the most part, I planned the Weaver reunion for the 28th-31st. It is in the middle of the week to save $$$ and to hopefully be less crowded at the lake (plus it gave me the option of offering time to Jason's family while still avoiding the 24th of July rates). Any thoughts or problems??? The e-mail I sent included activities in the area. Check it out and see if there is anything that interests you. We will be making food and activity assignments as time approaches. If anyone has specific requests for activities, please let me know. I am really excited and hope this will be as fun as I remember good ol' Bear Lake to be. According to Dad it is on the Utah side of the Lake, closer to Aunt Judy's place. Again, please lock in your arrival and departure from the cabin dates ASAP!

One of Those Days

So, have you ever had one of those days...
It started out so normal, I got out of bed at 5 am to go swim. I put my bike on the bike rack and off I went. The day went downhill from there. I won't even go into the work issues because they're so boring to most of you, but I ran behind all day long. A big deal I'm trying to get finished was falling apart, but I was able to break away for a little bike ride on my beloved Guru at lunch time only to have 2 flat tires and have to bum another off a fellow biker. I was late back for my next patient and it continued to go bad. I leave late from work for home, pick up Preston, Adin and Mia from their friends home with my mind totally on this deal I'm working on. I then did the un-thinkable, I drove into the garage with my custom-made, very expensive, bright red bike on the top of my car. Needless to say, that was the end of the bike's life! I almost starting crying and then Mia hugged my leg and said, "It's okay Daddy." She said it so cute that I almost started to laugh, but I looked down at her and said, "I really don't think it's okay Mia." The bike was totally ruined and for all those that know, I have a big race in Hawaii next week. I immediately jumped into action to find me a new bike and I bought it. I now own more in bikes than most small countries generate in a year. Luckily, my home-owners insurance is going to cover the loss and I love my new toy even though it still makes me misty-eyed to see my beloved Guru so destroyed. To top it all off, my window in my BMW wouldn't go up and the windshield wiper came completely off the back of my car. In retrospect, I guess it is okay Mia. It's all perspective. I'm sure glad I have such a great family that supports my crazy love for biking and triathlon-ing (not a word). It could always be worse!

Ethan gets his wish!

Ethan keeps saying that he'll see Preston again next Saturday. He's been right for the last couple and may even be right for the upcoming couple. The cousins got to play with each other when Grandma and Grandpa came down to see Connor play in his concert (see below). I had to keep the kids outside so they didn't disturb the music and they didn't mind a bit!

Connor Wow's the Crowds!

So Connor is the jack of all trades. In one 24 hour period he caught a monster trout (see below), played as an intimidating midfielder on his LAX team (see below), and then dressed up pretty nice to play a stunning rendition of "Daddy's Dune Buggy" in an Honor's Concert! The girls will be lining up for this young man who gets set apart as the new deacon's quorum president tomorrow.
