"Getting into the swing of school... This is NOT how most of the morning has looked. Usually Joe is ON the table, scribbling on something, or running around smearing food somewhere, or jumping off the couch, or running cars along the wall...."

Another Summer Week gone!

Well, it's been another fun summer week and it's one week closer to school starting. I'll sum it up a little. On Friday (July 13th), I got home from work and finished the last bit of painting and clean-up to put our house on the market and then we loaded up the family truckster and headed up to beautiful Beaver Creek. We stayed the night there and then Connor and me did the X-terra Mountain Championship. Connor won his age group and actually qualified for the World Championship in Maui! Unfortunately, that race is during cross country season AND on a Sunday (it's the thought that counts). He also beat me (AGAIN). All-in-all it was an awesome day in one of our favorite mountain getaway's. We spent the rest of the day on the mountain just enjoying it. The next day, we went to the Vail branch (1/2 English, 1/2 Spanish) and then sped to Utah to drop off Adin and Mia with their grandparents and then headed to Provo. The next day, we dropped off Preston and Connor at their respective BYU camps and Alyson and I headed back to home (alone). The boys loved BYU camp! Adin and Mia loved going to Nevada. Connor and Preston were picked up by their grandparents and went to Nevada for a couple of days (they head home on Tuesday). In Lund, NV the kids enjoyed the Pioneer Days rodeo and 5k run yesterday. Connor not only won the 5k but has become a town hero by setting a new course record (some people thought it was a world record). He also won a huge prize purse ($20). We're ready for them all to come home!

Adin is a HERO!

The other day Adin was awarded a "Community Hero" award! He was super nervous about being called up in front of so many people, but afterwards he was sure proud. It was awesome to see him rewarded for being alert and helpful! Who knows, maybe Adin saved our home and the boys that he called to! We're sure proud of him!
