40 years and still crazy

Well, we are in southern Colorado having a great time except there is no where to eat and mom thinks we need food.  the weather is fantastic and we have had a complete ball.  The hotel is extra nice and we have our own hot tub and private patio.
I have only fallen off my motorcycle twice.  I hit a mud hole and totally lost it.  I was covered in mud and wet.  Mom has become a riding nut.  She is having great fun as long as she can drive.  I ride the bike and she is the ATV freak.  Some amazing scenery.

Britt on AM radio!!!

I've become a talk radio junkie when I'm driving in the car these days... Yesterday as I was driving to Denver I couldn't resist and called in to "Caplis and Silverman" when Craig asked Dan if he believed he'd be with his wife in heaven forever. I pulled over when they put me on the air-- I was actually nervous and really surprised that I got on, but excited to have the chance to share a simple statement about what I believe-- and then I unexpectedly got thrown a curve-ball when Craig asked me about homosexuality... but I felt like I answered as well as I could in 15 seconds.

I was on the air around 4:18 pm, so a little less than half-way through if you want to skip ahead... just before Fran Maier, the featured guest.

The boys were whining at me, "Mom, can we go yet?!" until the phone call was over and I turned the radio back on and they heard my name, and then they were so excited about my 30 seconds of fame. :)

Happy Birthday Alyson!

Aly-- I love you so much and am so lucky to have such a fun sis-in-law! You are a great mother, wife, friend, and example! Hope you have fun today.
love, Britt

I've had to wait to post this picture (I just gave Aly this print since it was where they were married.)
I took it when we were in Logan for the marathon in September. Isn't the rainbow beautiful?!

Connor a Good Example!

We haven't posted in a while, life has been crazy as usual. We want to brag about our son Connor. He has been a good example recently that we are proud of. The 1st is with his friend Jackson. Connor invited him to a youth activity at our church where we helped at the Salvation Army for Christmas. We just found out through Jackson's mom that he was very impressed by our church and by Connor. Jackson's mom told Alyson, "I don't know what it is about Connor and your church, but Jackson came home totally impressed. He said, 'There is something different about Connor and his church, it's just great!' All I know is that we want Jackson to come to any events your church has to offer because we want him to be just like Connor." The other example is at the Priesthood Preview that we had the other day. Connor, being the Deacon's quorum president, had to speak to all of the 11 yr olds coming into the quorum this year and their parents. He spent a large part of his Sunday preparing his thoughts and then gave a great talk/lesson to all of us. There was one boy in particular that has been struggling already. The day after the meeting, this boy's mother talked to Alyson and told her, with tears in her eyes, that Connor did more with that talk than any of the leader's have done ever. This boy now wants to be "just like Connor." He also said that he can't wait to have the priesthood if it means hanging out with cool kids like Connor. It's nice to have people think highly of your kid. The other leader's and parents at that meeting all were very impressed by Connor's maturity and testimony.

the last of the 50's

Lookin at a new decade, Grandma Nori turns 59. "I'm old, I'm old", she was heard to utter. I suppose next year we will have to really celebrate the big 60.
