Well, we are very proud of our oldest son and we'd like to boast on his behalf. Today, Connor received a letter that states, "Dear Connor, Congratulations! As a result of your outstanding academic achievements and demonstrated leadership potential, you have been selected to represent Core Knowledge Charter School and the state of Colorado at the 2007 Junior National Young Leaders Conference this summer in Washington, D.C." It then goes on to tell him that he will have the opportunity to meet people such as Mitt Romney and others during his week long excursion to our nation's capital. Our biggest problem is that NO PARENTS are allowed! It's a little scary for Alyson and I, but Connor wants to do it. It sounds great! Congrats Connor!

What do you mean, no parents, that is rediculous...just at the competition or for the whole trip?
The whole trip. It is a leadership conference, not a competition. In the letter to us, it addresses the fact that we are not allowed to go and it says that is the way they like to run it and that is how they get the most productive results. He'll probably be going towards the end of June.
Connor-- What a neat opportunity! And it's no surprise they've invited you-- you're a stellar young man.
I'm glad to hear that they'll be feeding you... that's usually Uncle Derek's biggest concern, too. In fact, I usually try to pack him a lunch if he doesn't have me with him because he doesn't know what to do. :)
I hope this doesn't mean that you're considering going into politics now.... :)
