Summer Fun!!!

Hey guys--
Well, this past week has been my week of trying to get back into a routine and remember how to raise my kids without Derek's help. I'm doing alright, I think-- at least getting more sleep than he is, so I can't complain. My goal for this evening is to have dinner and FHE ready so we can put the kids-- and him-- to bed by 8:30. :)
So I'll try to catch up and put up a few highlights from the past month and a half!

Most recent pictures are first.... maybe you should start at the bottom and scroll up! (sorry)

The Amish people having a snowball fight was an amusing site!

There's still snow at the Continental Divide!

"Treasure Falls" was an awesome little hike right off the side of the highway near Wolf Creek Pass. The boys were very motivated to hike and search for the "lost treasure" French Explorers had hidden there over a hundred years ago!
The Grand Canyon was really amazing--
but maybe our kids were still too young to appreciate it
We drove on the "Historic Route 66"

We took the long route home and enjoyed some natural land marks along the way
Sunset Crater is an old volcano

Ethan, Reid & Luke got a taste of desert life down in Arizona-- they were very intrigued by the "cacti" and lizards

Connor's Back!

Connor in Harper's Ferry (it was hot and miserable)

At the Korean War memorial (he thought it was cool)

The view from the Lincoln Memorial

In front of the famous Lincoln Statue

In front of the White House.

Connor had a great trip to our nation's capital this week! It appears that he learned a lot and made some new friends. He went through the entire gammet of emotions while he was there, but in the end was sad to leave his friends and said that it was a great trip. We are glad to have him home. We've got a few of his pictures.

An Old Entertainment

Up the canyon with boys wading and throwing rocks. The Micro Weaver's were on a hospital get together and we took the boys up the canyon for a picnic and a chance to enjoy a fantastic afternoon. No wienies were roasted or marshmellows burned, however we toss a few rocks and got wet. Would you trust your kids to two old people and a fast river? North fork of the Poudre June 22, 2007.

Summer Is Here!

Connor and Preston receiving their medals for piano.
Father's and Son's campsite.
The tent at the reunion.
The Finale at the Reunion.
The Triathletes before the storm!

You know summer is here when there are a million things going on. The Weaver Reunion started it out with a bang. It was great to see everyone! We got home and I found out that my office had basically gone nuts without me there. I guess I can't leave again. We then had a triathlon yesterday. Connor took 1st, it was an all out sprint to the end. Preston did great and learned a few things for his very first triathlon (tying your shoes in transition takes too long!). I didn't feel too good, but had a decent race nonetheless (too little sleep and too much mountain biking at the reunion). Last night was a tear jerker as Connor let out some emotion about traveling to D.C. by himself. Early this morning we went to the airport and had a serious ordeal trying to get him on the plane, but finally did. He has since called us from D.C. stating, "I'm having the time of my life!" What a difference 24 hours makes! When Connor gets back we'll share some of his pictures with you all. He has been instructed to take a lot. So, I've got just a few of our pictures, we'll burn a disc with all of the reunion pictures for everyone.

What We Rushed Home For....

Although we were about an hour late, (might be caused by the uncanny amount of time it takes us to stop and eat lunch) we made it home in time for Alec's field trip to the Thanksgiving Point farm. He had a great time...we all had a great time. The only trouble came when he wanted to ride the horses before his turn and ran into the corral and under the horses feet. we saved him before he got trampled...twice (who are the parents anyway). Just thought we'd share...

Ridding the ponies...

FYI...thanks for a great week! We had a great time. The kids truely enjoy getting together with their cousins. We enjoyed your company despite the weather. Thanks again, we love you...OH and don't forget to share photos!!!!

Calling All Weavers and Weaver-Richards!!!

First of all, let me say that I'm sorry we have been out of the loop. We have been in Arizona for the past week for my grandma's funeral and visiting family there. I still haven't gotten back into the swing of things since we've moved.... several emails and phone calls to respond to. In any case, Happy Birthdays to Jason and Adin! Congratulations to Shelby (swim team) and Paige (graduation) and Connor (Bolder Boulder.... but I think I could have beaten you... I'd better prove it soon, before it's too late!)

Please check your email tonight... we'll be sending a template of questions that we need everyone to fill out for Trivial Pursuit, Weaver Family Style. :) It would be a great FHE activity for tomorrow night... or whenever you get the chance, but the sooner we get them back, the better. I'll send it out after dinner.

Thanks! Can't wait to see you all!
