Weekend in Petoskey

This is absolutely the worst time of year to move away from this gorgeous part of the country!!! My heart is breaking! We had 87 degree weather today--people were out on bikes, at the beach, lining up at the ice cream shops. (Of course we went to church :) and then had dinner with friends.)

On Thursday and Friday we had a wonderful two day getaway with our friends, Dave and Lil, at their new home and at another awesome indoor waterpark, Avalanche Bay.The weather was wonderful, but we weren't expecting it, and we'd already promised the kids we'd go to the waterpark, so we couldn't back out. The rides were even better than at the Great Wolf Lodge. Ethan and Reid liked the "toilet bowl" as they called it, and body surfing.

We did get some great outdoor time having a picnic dinner in the park on Little Traverse Bay and then also as we drove through beautiful little Harbor Springs-- a very quaint town just outside Petoskey. We would love to bring Fred and Nori there next weekend if we have time.

The whole crew!
Yesterday we had our first garage sale, which was very pleasant because the weather was so nice and sunny and warm-- it was a great excuse to sit around and enjoy it.
Derek decided he actually liked having a garage sale (I had to talk him into it. ) What's better than sitting around, having people take away your junk, and collect a little cash in the process?
Tomorrow we'll get serious about packing!

No matter what, it's always hard to make such a huge change in your life. The memories will stay with you, but it's hard. You do live in a beautiful place. (Too bad it's in the middle of nowhere) I can't believe it was that warm. It's been cold and rainy here all week but they're predicting that it will be in the 90's by next week end!

looking good. If you recall we traveled up there the last ime we were in Traverse City. We did not see the water park and I am curious as to why there are so many indoor water parks in a part of the world that is primarily a summer resort area. There must be a large enough population stranded up there in the bad weather that need a water life in the winter.

Okay, so is that girl your twin or what???? Why is Derek always "deep in thought" for pictures?? I am actually wondering if you have any pictures of him posing any other way!
